FLUXNET is a global network of micrometeorological tower sites that use eddy covariance methods to measure the exchanges of carbon dioxide, water vapor, and energy between terrestrial ecosystem and atmosphere. At present, over 400 tower sites are operating on a long-term and continuous basis.

While the vast majority of FLUXNET sites are concentrated in North America and Europe, there is at least some representation of most of the world’s biomes and climate zones, and the number of sites in South America, Africa and Asia is increasing.

We contribute our measurements from the Bartlett Experimental Forest to the FLUXNET database and have participated actively in synthesis projects arising from the 2007 workshop in LaThuile, Italy, as well as the follow-on 2009 workshop in Asilomar, California.
